Cardinals Ink Draft-Pick Daryl Washington
The Cardinals have signed their 47th overall pick in this years draft, linebacker Daryl Washington, out of Texas Christian University.
The contract is a four-year deal, but financial terms have been disclosed.
Washington played all four of years in college with TCU, completing 219 tackles, 4 interceptions and 5 sacks.
The team hopes that Washington can fill the void recently injured Gerald Hayes and now Miami Dolphins Karlos Dansby has left. They hope he can develop into the sideline-to-sideline, three-down successor to Dansby. Coach Ken Whisenhunt has high hopes for Washington, but will ease him into the starting position.
With training camp starting today, Washington is fighting for the starting position with fellow linebacker Paris Lenon. The team believes Washington will give him a run for his money.
Daryl Washington is under contract from 2010-2013 and becomes a free agent in 2014.
